Lyoko Wong = Science × Art × Interdisciplinary × Oriental Aesthetics
Lyoko Wong is a generative artist from China. Working with algorithm, she is interested in how multi-disciplinary concepts and multi-cultural concepts come together, and how to deliver feelings and concepts on the digital paper in a concretized or abstracted form. Her artistic creations delve into six themes: 'Human∞AI', 'Void', 'Time Space Universe', 'Recreating Oriental Aesthetics', 'Unplug 'n' Play' and 'Love '. She also draws inspiration from ancient oriental elements such as Chinese ink paintings and calligraphy, ceramics, lacquer ware, gems inlay, textile, and oriental philosophy concepts.
Her generative systems often navigate many delicate balances at once: the interplays between randomness versus control, the organic versus the systematic, and the abstract versus the representational. Probing into the what-ifs of translating and projecting the realities of our cognition / being into the evolution of technology, we might find new perspectives on our own minds, feelings and lives.
Prior to diving into the art world, Lyoko built a career as a consultant & engineer in environmental protection industry in the past years.
