ASYNC

When we talk about AI, we often refer to machine learning driven by artificial neural networks—technology originally inspired by the structure of the human brain. The 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Professors John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton, for their groundbreaking discoveries and inventions that laid the foundation for machine learning using artificial neural networks. This represents an epic shift in thinking, where, for the first time, complex nonlinear systems are used to simulate the intricate workings of the human brain system, leading to a monumental leap in productivity and advancing our capabilities in ways never seen before.

I am honored to live through such an era of transformation, and it is within this context that 'Async' was born. Async is a series of generative artworks shaped by my intuitive perception, tracing the intricate dance between the neural pathways of the human brain and the foundational algorithms that drive artificial intelligence. Each piece captures a fleeting moment in the brain’s complex processes—where synapses fire, connections form, and multilevel structures emerge—embodying the delicate beauty and infinite complexity of thought. I dissect the structures of consciousness and unconsciousness, reflecting both the synchronized and asynchronous neural activity through vibrant colors, revealing the inherent balance between order and randomness that resides deep within the mind.

Async is my first series of artworks exploring the theme of 'Human ∞ AI'.
